What is a memo? Memos (10%): More than summaries, the memos should critically evaluate the authors’ argument. The best memos usually extract one or two themes from the set of readings as a basis for discussion. Memos may identify strengths and weaknesses of arguments, offer additional insights or suggestions, and/or compare and contrast different authors and their arguments. These memos—and discussion of them in class—will be done in teams of 3-5 students. (Don’t worry about this)
