ASSIGNMENT HELP | How individuals, environments and health behavior interact

Part1:

Weekly assignments will be provided each week which will require the students to select a weekly event (could be TED talk event, local event, community event, online event, current event etc) which relates to the topic discussed in lecture that week.

Students are expected to view one external event a week and provide a reflection on the Weekly Assignment link in Canvas.

This week we will each focus on a “VIDEO” which you find that speaks of Social Influence and its effect on a particular health behavior.

For this assignment our focus is on Social Aspects which can press upon an Individual to form their decision to “take part in” or “reject” a health behavior.  In other words Social Influence and its effect on health behavior.

**Please look up a VIDEO which speaks of one or more unhealthy behavior(s) which, even with current medical education, is still on the rise.  Please be sure to include the Social Aspects which may be causing the rise in statistics which you find, thus pressing upon an Individual to form their decision to take part in or reject a health behavior.**

-Please provide a write up on your chosen video

-Please use the course rubric for Weekly Assignments when writing your reflection paper.

Part2:

Both of our course textbooks speak of the effect of the environment and interpersonal communication and their effects on health behavior

Edberg Chapters 5 & 6

Glanz, Rimer and Viswanath Chapters 9 & 13

Using your textbooks describe:

1) How individuals, environments and health behavior interact (Chapter 9 Glanz, Rimer and Viswanath)

2) How interpersonal communication affect health behavior (Chapter 13 Glanz, Rimer and Viswanath)

If you use additional references above and beyond your course textbook, provide referencing to support your thoughts.
