Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
be able to demonstrate understanding of leadership roles, socio-political-legal developments at the broader issue of change in health policy delivery at State and Federal and International levels.
be able to integrate knowledge skills and attributes as they relate to a variety of discipline within the health care arena and as they relate to contemporary theories of organisational change and project management applied to health care environment.
be able to identify practice, policy and legislative change within a health context.
be able to apply contemporary healthcare management theories and practices to the administration and evaluation of care delivery systems.
be able to demonstrate an understanding of legislation and policies that impact on human resource management of health services.
be able to demonstrate an ability to interpret financial data and to use accounting principles for decision making and budget purposes.
be able to demonstrate an understanding of leadership principles as applied to their personal leadership development and to the health care environment in which they work.
be able to apply knowledge of group roles, processes and dynamics to facilitate effective communication and consultation within a multi-disciplinary health care organisation.
be able to critically examine and apply the principles of cultural safety to healthcare leadership and management roles specifically in relation to Equity and Access for diverse cultural groups.
