This is a great question. In my eyes deviance in regards to policing is a form of corruption. I would argue that if one is taking place then so is the other and either way it is a bad thing. I am not a fan of splitting hairs in regards to police conduct. I think this happens often. I think that when a police officer is behaving in any way that is devious then they are behaving in a way that is unbecoming of an officer. I think that we should hold our police officers to a higher standard than normal people and I think that they should be prepared to accept that responsibility when they choose being a police officer as a career. Distinguishing between corruption and official deviance in policing would be difficult. Corruption would be something that takes place often and at a higher rate and deviance would be a smaller occurrence and a minor infraction? I am not sure if the difference matter……………………………………………………….
