Overview

Residency provides an opportunity for you to work on and make progress in your dissertation work. During the week you will learn new concepts, hear about many different dissertation efforts, and engage in a dialogue with your peers and the faculty. You will also have the opportunity to get feedback on your work from your peers and the faculty. Remember, feedback is information on the things done exceptionally well and the things you may want to do differently. It is your option to use the information you believe is important. Take the opportunity to get as many different perspectives as possible. Then throughout the week synthesize that information and apply it by (1) updating your 10 strategic point’s document, (2) revising your Prospectus, and/or revising your Proposal, and (3) creating a post-residency plan of action.

Instructions

1. Use this form throughout the week to collect feedback from three sources and reflect on it: self-feedback, feedback from your peers you will work with throughout the week, and feedback from faculty.

2. Have this form loaded on your computer to use it throughout the week.

3. On the morning of Day 2:

a. Fill in the 10 Strategic Points from your Pre-course assignment in the left-hand side of the Strategic Points table. DO NOT EDIT THIS PART OF THE TABLE DURING THE COURSE.

b. Complete the left-hand side of the Table Assess Your Level of Knowledge

4. On the afternoon of Day 4:

a. Fill in the 10 Strategic Points from your Pre-course assignment in the right-hand side of the Strategic Points table.

b. On the evening of Day 4, but not before, upload the entire document to the “Engagement and Reflections” assignment drop box in the Assignments topic of the classroom.
