Writing Prompt:

The analysis of historical personalities is a common link to the understanding of our past, present, and future in terms of time. We depend on our ability to interpret the past in order to make sense of the actions of current leaders and persons of significance through the analysis of important events that surround these individuals.  This allows us, based upon this assumption of prior knowledge, to predict the future by gazing into our personal crystal balls and take some comfort as to the direction that our lives will go beyond our day to day existence.  Thus, our analysis of the past and the conclusions we draw from it determines how we feel about what goes on all around us in our daily lives.  Therefore, the future as we see it is our personal impression of the past and current events which enables us to maintain a comfortable position in the midst of constant change and confusion.  Our perception of History past, present, and future has become our reality.

Your assignment is to choose three (3) historical leaders or persons of significance as they are directly connected to three (3) important historical events and analyze their thinking processes that determined the action/reaction which defined the outcome of History.  In essence I

want you to analyze three (3) historical realities.

Procedure:

Using only your textbook briefly review Chapters #34, # 35, and # 36

and choose three (3) historical leaders or persons of significance and

three (3) events that directly relates to the leaders or persons chosen.

You will choose one (1) leader or person / event from “EACH” of the

three (3) chapters listed above (I.E. Chapters #34, #35, & #36).  Please

note the names of the historical figures and connected events as well as

the page number in the textbook where you found the references.

Write one short paragraph for each example.  “You Must Have A

Minimum of 200 Words” as a total word count of the three examples to

successfully complete this assignment.  You may write more than 200

words if you wish.  I will leave the decision to go beyond the 200 word

minimum up to you.
